Its not often three friends who have known each other since they were about 17 have the opportunity to do something totally different. One finally leaving the army, one changing jobs and the other out of contract. There was the opportunity, now lets seize it! When one of the wives said “why don’t you take yourselves off to India for 3 months” – there was no looking back.
After planning and saving and with thanks to wives and family for their understanding – we are finally off – Jan 3rd – Apr 4th.

looks like living by the beach seems the thing to do. become a real beach bum. do they charge extra for the cockroaches or is that included in the all inclusive package!! the carvings look marvellous are you tempted? or just have a bet on the cockfighting. have you tried any of the local food on your travels or is it just good old steak nad chips.

Sounds like you’re having a fab time. Been 20 odd years since I went, but I reckon not a lot has changed. Graffitti all over the Taj and same sense of hygiene everywhere.
Enjoy Varanasi and watch out for the floaters going down the Ganges …… I particularily like the pig loos in Goa.
